Veteran technology entrepreneur/investor Yat Siu is a major figure in the open metaverse and blockchain gaming. He is the co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, a global leader in blockchain and gaming that is working to provide property rights for virtual assets via NFTs and related technologies, with a current valuation of $6B. Yat began his career at Atari Germany in 1990. In 1995 he established Hong Kong Cybercity/Freenation, the first free web page and email provider in Asia. In 1998 he set up Outblaze, an award-winning pioneer of multilingual white label web services. In 2009, he sold Outblaze’s messaging unit to IBM, and pivoted Outblaze to become an incubator of projects and companies to develop digital entertainment services and products. Nick Johnson started his engineering career in 2001 in New Zealand. He later took a job at Google, where he worked for over seven years across two stints with the firm. In 2016, Johnson was poached for a role with Ethereum. He holds a BSc in computer science from the University of Canterbury. Nick Johnson is also the founder and lead developer of Ethereum Name Service, which enables decentralized naming for wallets and addresses in the Web3 ecosystem. João Graça is the Co-Founder & CTO of Unbabel, an AI human translation platform that has raised close to $100 million to date. João has a Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing and was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. Joe is the founder and managing partner of Isomer Capital, which last year closed an additional €250m, and has 25 years’ experience working as an LP, GP and technology operations executive. Prior to Isomer he was MD for Business Development at Pomona Capital, a leading global secondaries firm, and earlier at Cambridge Associates responsible for advising institutional investors on venture capital and private equity investments. Joe began his career in information technology operating roles, most notably at Invensys plc (now Schneider Electric) in the US and Europe. He received a BS Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and an MBA from London Business School.
Before co-founding Bootstrap Europe to support ground-breaking tech businesses, Stéphanie’s career includes founding, building and sitting on the board of several successful technology and financial companies in Zurich and London, such as the award winning fintech start-up Fractal Labs. Stéphanie takes her experiences as a founder and parlays that into guidance and direction to Bootstrap Europe’s portfolio founders in a pragmatic and compassionate way. Sebastian Pollok is Founding Partner of Visionaries Club, an early stage VC which has raised nearly $600M to date and is a fund backed by leading European digital founders and family business entrepreneurs. Prior, Sebastian co-founded and ran AMORELIE, which he successfully grew to > USD 60m revenue, >20% EBITDA and a team of 100 employees. AMORELIE was sold to ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE in2018 at a valuation > USD 100m. Prior to AMORELIE, Sebastian worked as a VC for e.ventures in San Francisco and studied at WHU, St. Gallen, HKUST and Kellogg School of Management. Shivram brings a wealth of experience as a founder and CEO across B2B SaaS, foodtech, logistics and marketplaces. As a Partner at EQT Ventures (€210 billion assets under management), he scouts out a broad range of investment opportunities across the DACH ecosystem, helping us find and back more and more of the region’s most promising founders. Prior to joining EQT Ventures, Shivram co-founded and led Smunch, a B2B cloud canteen company acquired by Delivery Hero. Prior to that, he led the international expansion of Delivery Hero. The first half of his career was in Venture Capital across India and Asia-Pacific, investing across a wide range of industries like retail/e-commerce, education, healthcare, real-estate and more. Dr. Nadine Geiser is a Principal at World Fund, a €350m European climate VC fund. She has previously worked at the corporate venture fund of Merck KGaA (M Ventures), Investment Bank Bank Vontobel, and most recently as Principal at Redalpine, a Swiss VC fund where she built out the sustainability strategy and invested in companies like Umiami, Better Dairy, Mushlabs and Uncommon Bio. Nadine is a member of the advisory board of the Bioinnovation Institute - Novo Nordisk Foundation. Nadine has a PhD in Biotechnology from ETH Zurich, having studied her Master's and undergraduate degrees in Biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Sasan Hashemi, an accomplished professional with a background in data analysis, entrepreneurship, and technology. As the CEO of Tset, he manages R&D projects in digitized production systems. His expertise extends to data analysis, business strategy, and programming. Sasan was Partner and Chief Analyst at Vienna-based corporate venture capital firm at age 23. Tset has raised around €13 million in funding.
Maricel Saenz is a Costa Rican entrepreneur with a strong passion for sustainability and innovation. She is the founder and CEO of Compound Foods, a food-tech startup that aims to reduce supply chains and food waste while creating sustainable and valuable products through fermentation. The company's first product, Minus, uses a beanless approach to reduce the negative environmental impact of coffee production and ensure a sustainable supply for the future. Minus has so far raised $4.5M. Maricel holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and attended Singularity University's Global Solutions Program in 2017.
